Portugal e Lisboa s\u00e3o do melhor que h\u00e1 na Europa, mas a rede ferrovi\u00e1ria n\u00e3o&#8221;, considerou Pedro Nuno Santos, que falava, em Lisboa, na sess\u00e3o que antecede o in\u00edcio do &#8220;Conecting Europe Express&#8221;, uma viagem de comboio pela Uni\u00e3o Europeia para promover os benef\u00edcios deste transporte.Esta viagem, organizada no \u00e2mbito do ano europeu do transporte ferrovi\u00e1rio, tem hoje in\u00edcio em Lisboa e termina em Paris, no dia 7 de outubro.No entanto, o governante vincou que, &#8220;ap\u00f3s d\u00e9cadas de desinvestimento&#8221;, a rede ferrovi\u00e1ria est\u00e1 a sofrer uma recupera\u00e7\u00e3o, com todos os principais corredores a serem modernizados.Paralelamente, est\u00e1 a avan\u00e7ar a linha \u00c9vora-Elvas, &#8220;uma pe\u00e7a-chave para a liga\u00e7\u00e3o r\u00e1pida entre Lisboa e Madrid&#8221;.Durante a sua interven\u00e7\u00e3o, Pedro Nuno Santos lembrou que o transporte ferrovi\u00e1rio tem uma efici\u00eancia energ\u00e9tica &#8220;imbat\u00edvel&#8221; e que, ao contr\u00e1rio do autom\u00f3vel, navio e avi\u00e3o, n\u00e3o apresenta qualquer barreira tecnol\u00f3gica \u00e0 sua total eletrifica\u00e7\u00e3o.Para o ministro, o transporte ferrovi\u00e1rio tem que contribuir para uma transi\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica que seja justa e equilibrada.&#8221;Sem justi\u00e7a social, n\u00e3o haver\u00e1 uma transi\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica&#8221;, vincou, notando n\u00e3o ser &#8220;poss\u00edvel ou justo&#8221; obrigar as pessoas que j\u00e1 passam dificuldades a suportar mais custos, em termos de tempo e dinheiro.Referindo que a liberdade de escolha, &#8220;por vezes, \u00e9 um luxo&#8221;, Pedro Nuno Santos acrescentou que, em mat\u00e9ria de mobilidade, h\u00e1 a obriga\u00e7\u00e3o de oferecer solu\u00e7\u00f5es que melhorem a qualidade de vida dos cidad\u00e3os.&#8221;As cidades v\u00e3o ter de se libertar da depend\u00eancia do autom\u00f3vel e o comboio estar\u00e1 no centro da mobilidade&#8221;, apontou.O ministro das Infraestruturas e da Habita\u00e7\u00e3o enumerou ainda as principais prioridades para o transporte ferrovi\u00e1rio, em Portugal at\u00e9 2030, como a conclus\u00e3o da eletrifica\u00e7\u00e3o e moderniza\u00e7\u00e3o de toda a rede.Por outro lado, o Governo quer resolver as limita\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e0 capacidade nas \u00e1reas metropolitanas e criar um eixo de alta velocidade Lisboa-Porto, estendendo depois at\u00e9 \u00e0 Galiza.&#8221;A constru\u00e7\u00e3o de novas linhas est\u00e1 pensada de forma integrada na rede existente. As duas \u00e1reas metropolitanas ficar\u00e3o ligadas em pouco mais de uma hora. Isto representa uma revolu\u00e7\u00e3o em termos de mobilidade. \u00c9 uma mudan\u00e7a muito grande na estrutura do territ\u00f3rio portugu\u00eas e na forma como as duas \u00e1reas metropolitanas se v\u00e3o relacionar, estendendo tamb\u00e9m os benef\u00edcios ao resto do pa\u00eds&#8221;, precisou.Segundo o governante, Portugal est\u00e1, pela primeira vez na sua hist\u00f3ria, a elaborar um plano ferrovi\u00e1rio nacional, que vai dotar o pa\u00eds com um &#8220;instrumento de planeamento&#8221; e apresentar um &#8220;contributo indispens\u00e1vel&#8221; para que o impulso neste transporte n\u00e3o se esgote em futuros ciclos pol\u00edticos.Presente na mesma sess\u00e3o, a comiss\u00e1ria europeia para os Transportes, Adina Valean, garantiu que a Uni\u00e3o Europeia tem a segunda rede ferrovi\u00e1ria mais longa do mundo e uma das mais densas.Valean sublinhou que a rede de alta velocidade est\u00e1 a aumentar, o que vai tamb\u00e9m permitir transportar mais passageiros.&#8221;Na nossa estrat\u00e9gia de mobilidade sustent\u00e1vel inclu\u00edmos a duplica\u00e7\u00e3o do tr\u00e1fego ferrovi\u00e1rio de alta velocidade at\u00e9 2030 e o seu triplo em 2050.
