Are Target, Walmart, Publix open?

Retailers are watching Hurricane Dorian’s forecast and announcing store closures or reopenings.

Hurricane Dorian, which was diminished to a Category 2 Tuesday, was about 105 miles east of Vero Beach, Florida and 125 miles east-southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

By Tuesday afternoon, tropical-storm-force winds were slamming portions of the east coast of Florida, the National Hurricane Center said.

Forecasters said some coastal areas from Florida to North Carolina could see 4 to 10 inches of rain in coming days.

One of the easiest ways to find out if grocery chains and major retailers are closed or have reopened is to check online. Retailers are posting regular updates with openings and modified hours. Some will also post on social media.
