While it’s not the lowest price we’ve ever seen on it (it briefly dropped to $187 back in May), it’s still a great price for this beloved machine, which has been selling out like hot cakes as of late.While we haven’t tried out the Classic Series, we tested the upgraded KitchenAid Professional 600 Series ($359) and the KitchenAid 5-Quart Artisan model (on sale for $299.99), with the latter earning its spot as our all-time favorite stand mixer. There are a few differences between the Classic Plus and the Artisan: Namely, the pricier Artisan features a larger, 5-quart bowl (as opposed to the Classic Plus’ 4.5-quart) and a higher wattage (325 instead of the Classic Series’ 275-Watts). Many of the features we liked in testing, however, are the same. For instance, both have 10 different speed options and a tilt-and-lock base for the included bowl and beater, which we found to work really well. Overall, we noted that the Artisan was durable, quiet and easy to use. With your purchase of the Classic Plus, you’ll not only snag the stand and 4.5-quart bowl, you’ll get three attachments: a metal wire whip, a nylon-coated flat beater and a dough hook, all of which we found easy to put on, remove and clean.
