Macaulay Culkin: Hollywood Walk of Fame
In a heartwarming Hollywood moment, Macaulay Culkin, renowned for his iconic roles in ’90s classics like “Home Alone” and “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Catherine O’Hara, his onscreen mom from the beloved franchise, extended her congratulations during the ceremony.
O’Hara, known for the memorable realization of leaving her son Kevin at home during a Christmas trip in the 1990 film, expressed that her enduring love for “Home Alone” is attributed to Culkin’s perfect portrayal of Kevin McAllister.
She commended Culkin’s hard work, acknowledging his ability to make acting seem effortlessly natural. Amidst her emotions, O’Hara affectionately referred to him as “the dearest thing” and recognized his sense of humor as a key factor in handling the sudden stardom from the films.
O’Hara reflected on the intelligence displayed by Culkin as a child, and how his humor became a vital tool for navigating life. Despite the overwhelming popularity, she credited his sweet yet twisted humor, which he brought to all his endeavors post — “Home Alone”.
The ceremony was attended by Culkin’s partner Brenda Song, siblings Rory Culkin and Quinn Culkin, and friends Paris Jackson and Seth Green. It became a touching moment as Natasha Lyonne, Culkins Party Monster co-star, also delivered a heartfelt speech in honor of the occasion. O’Hara concluded her speech by expressing pride in Culkin and thanking him for letting her, the “fake mom”, share in the joyous celebration.
