Chipotle Mexican Grill is upping its stake in steak.

The fast-casual chain announced Tuesday that it is adding carne asada, a second steak option, to nationwide menus starting Thursday.

“Our Carne Asada steak is amazingly tender, hand cut, and grilled fresh every day,” Chris Brandt, Chipotle chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “It performed incredibly well in the test markets and we’re excited to be introducing this terrific, new steak nationwide for a limited time.”

The steak was piloted in Cincinnati and Fresno, California.

Chipotle says the meat is compliant with a Paleo diet and approved for the Whole30 program. It’s seasoned with lime and a blend of spices.

Members of Chipotle Rewards loyalty program can try the limited-time menu item early through digital ordering starting Tuesday. The national average for the protein will be $8.50 in a standard entrée.

Other Mexican restaurant chains also have introduced new or returning menu items recently. Taco Bell introduced a new national vegetarian menu last week with the new Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme and Black Bean Quesarito.

Del Taco announced the limited time return of its shredded pork Carnitas.
